IntroductionTallinn has always been on my bucket list, especially during the winter and I’m so glad I finally ticked this off the list. My only regret is not staying longer! Tallinn is more affordable than Helsinki, and the city was beautiful.
It’s a really easy day trip from Helsinki (or vice versa). All you have to do is take the ferry for 2 hours, and the ships are really nice (they’re kind of like cruise boats). There are a few providers that do the trip every day and you could even buy your ticket on the day, but I would recommend getting there at least 1 hour before. It’s kind of similar to going to an airport (where you have to check in and board by a certain time). I didn’t know this and paid dearly, so check your ticket carefully! I would shop around to make sure you’re getting the best deal. For a day trip, the city is super walkable so I actually didn’t take public transportation. The walk from the ferry terminal to the city center I was actually only 20min. Below, I’ve marked down what I would recommend! All in all, I’ll definitely be coming back to Estonia in the future!
